When you’ve lived in a home as-is for nearly 20 years, it can be tough to imagine new possibilities. It takes courage to pick up the phone, call on a professional, and say, “It’s time to make a change.”

That’s what these homeowners did when they called us in to remodel their New City, NY raised ranch house. They’d inhabited their space largely as it was when they bought it in the late 1990’s. This year, though, they were ready to reclaim the space and make it their own.

This project marks our first full home remodel in our new Rockland County NY service area, and there was a great deal of work to be done. Our team completely gutted and rebuilt the kitchen and master bathroom, and also installed new hardwood floors and interior doors throughout the main living spaces.

Now that the remodel is complete, the clients are loving their new kitchen and bathroom with transitional style and modern emphasis. A few favorite components include the navy kitchen cabinetry, open floor plan, and underfloor heating in the bathroom.

The act of reclaiming your space is significant; it’s a concrete way of saying, “Yes, this is our home; this is where we belong.” We’re proud to have helped this family to do just that.

Here is what the homeowners had to say about the project:

What a great experience working with Houseplay. I know many who’ve gone through large renovations and talk of the ‘nightmares’ they endured. We had none. It took a few months, that was tough – but no getting around that. Tammy, Niall, and team were responsive, responsible, respectful, and overall concerned with our satisfaction and the quality of the job. A large renovation is stressful – the options, the design and layout, the coordination, the permits, the inspections, and of course the work. Houseplay managed it all and they did it well. Starting with the design Houseplay understood our needs and presented options (with samples) which made our design decisions much easier. When it came to construction, they kept us informed with schedule and made sure the work was done to our satisfaction. Would fully recommend and in fact already have. Thank you Tammy, Niall, and team.
