Do you have a historic home that’s giving you grief, though it has tremendous potential to be beautiful? So did this client.
Beginning with a 2-bedroom apartment in a 1920s house, the Houseplay team redesigned the entire space. We peeled back myriad layers of shoddy workmanship to reveal the apartment’s original charm. In keeping with the owner’s wishes, we also opened up the layout to allow for comfortable movement around the apartment.
New closets provided ample storage space, while central A/C, a new laundry closet and brand-new appliances offer all the necessary modern conveniences … the perfect blend of old and new.
The original heart pine flooring was lifted, reclaimed and reinstalled, as were the original solid-wood doors and kitchen cabinetry. Custom mouldings around the windows and doors — a modern interpretation of the original trim work — capped off the design.
